A little About me…
I am a psychotherapist with a unique perspective and approach to therapy based on life experience. I was born and raised in what I consider the heart of Oklahoma, North Tulsa. Yes, one of few locations for the reality drama, The First 48. More impressively, it was home to America's Black Wall Street. I attended THEE Jackson State University. This institution is my Historically Black College/University (HBCU) located in Jackson, Mississippi, where I received my bachelor's degree in Speech Communication Studies.
I now reside in Northwest Arkansas, where I attended the University of Arkansas. I was able to earn a Master's degree in Communication and another in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I decided to open a small private practice to meet the needs of diversity in mental health and advocate for mental health in marginalized communities.
As a therapist who is also an advocate for inclusion, I am culturally competent and affirming. I work with all populations, especially those considered diverse and underrepresented, which include but extend far beyond race, class, gender, and sex. My goal is to create a relationship built on trust that will allow us to understand the whole being and all aspects of life, including personal, social, familial, environmental, and institutional.
